In 1969, Kurt was involved in writing a youth musical, Tell It Like It Is. Kurt says that it was then that he realized what an impact music could have in the lives of young people:
“When we think of composers, we think of extended works, but my composition usually is three minutes long. Composing is a way of expressing my faith. I have always felt that a well-written text is enhanced by a lyrical melody.”
Kurt Kaiser was born in Chicago and attended the American Conservatory of Music and Northwestern University where he received Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Education. During the 33 years when he was Vice President and Director of Artists and Repertoire, Kurt received numerous awards including an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from Baylor University, Gospel Music Hall of Fame, and an ASCAP Achievement award.
